Shannon and Chase-April 30, 2011

When Chase called me nearly 2 years ago and told me that he and Shannon were engaged, it was no surprise to me.  Anyone can see that they have an unconditional love for one another.  The surprise was that he wanted me to shoot his wedding.  At that time, I had never even shot a wedding.

Each one I photograph is special to me, but this one was extra special because Shannon and Chase are great friends of mine.

Congratulations guys and I know you will have a wonderful future together.

The ceremony and reception were held at The Orchard House in Concord, NC.

Shannon and Chase wanted to stand back to back and talk to one another before the ceremony.  Obviously without seeing each other.  I have done this several times, but this was one of the most emotional.  As you can see they were both holding back tears as they told each other one simple thing, “I love you.”

Jennifer and Jonathan

My mother (as well as nearly everyone else in her family) is from Salisbury, NC.  Jennifer is my first cousin, and having gone on every summer vacation with each other since we can remember, we are more like brother and sister than cousins.  If you are from Salisbury there is one thing that everyone has in common, and that is a love for Cheerwine. It originated in the city in 1917 and has become a staple of the North Carolina lifestyle.

Jennifer and Jonathan are definitely no exception.

Whether we were in Florida, California, or New York, you could always bet on Jennifer asking the waitress for Cheerwine to drink at every restaurant, and ultimately being let down with the response “I don’t know what that is.”

-and-

Jonathan is known for starting each morning off with a Cheerwine for breakfast (and a cheeseburger).

So needless to say, Cheerwine is in their blood.

It was easy to think of a theme for their engagement shoot.

Outdoors, Canoeing, and Cheerwine.

Enjoy.

Going to the Uhwarrie mountains for a weekend of camping and canoeing is one of their favorite things to do.

Jennifer and Jonathan are getting married on September 2nd at Carrigan Farms, in Mooresville, NC.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to our moms! We wouldn’t be here and be the people we are today without you. Thank you for all that you do and for your guidance, love and encouragement. You are amazing and we love you!
